Bozza – Excerpts from Jose d’ete a la montagne
(A Summer’s Day on the Mountain)
Written in 1953, Eugène Bozza’s flute quartet paints clear pictures in the mind of the listener, exploring and stretching the capabilities of the instrument to extremes. Throughout the four movements a variety of harmonies and textures are used to illustrate peace and serenity, constantly unsettled and restored once more.

Bordel 1900 - Piazzolla
Piazolla – Excerpts from Histoire du Tango
The title of this work is self-explanatory. The entire work by Astor Piazzolla takes us through the development of the tango in the 1900s. The movement featured is a lively and energetic depiction of the original tango.

Baroque and Blue - Bolling
Bolling – Excerpt from Suite for Flute and Jazz Piano Trio
Claude Bolling’s Suite was composed as a challenge from world-renowned flautist Jean-Pierre Rampal to ‘write something that stays in the classical field for my flute and in the jazz idiom for you (Bolling). In 1975 the work was completed and recorded, spending a record total of 530 weeks at the top of the Billboard charts.
